How the way we think shapes our practice, our teams, and children’s experiences
Who is this for?
All early years practitioners, from apprentices to leaders, who want to develop a more positive, reflective, and growth-focused approach to their work, especially when facing challenge, change, or pressure.
What will you do?
You will:
- Identify how to model a growth mindset with children, colleagues, and families.
- Explore what mindset is and how it shows up in everyday nursery practice.
- Understand the difference between fixed and growth mindsets in yourself, your team, and your setting.
- Reflect on your own attitudes, inner voice, triggers, and responses to challenge.
- Practise reframing problems into learning opportunities and solutions.
- Explore real-life scenarios and examples from early years settings.
What are the benefits?
Developing a growth mindset leads to:
- Practice that aligns closely with EYFS principles and what Ofsted sees in strong settings.
- More confident, resilient practitioners who cope better with change and pressure.
- A calmer, more positive emotional climate for children.
- Stronger teamwork, communication, and professional relationships.
- Increased reflection, learning, and improvement across the setting.
