Developing confidence, clarity and courage in the everyday conversations that shape practice
Who is this for?
This course is for all early years practitioners and leaders who want to build confidence in holding helpful, honest and professional conversations. Whether you’re supporting a colleague, offering feedback, raising a concern or simply sharing good practice, your ability to talk openly and constructively is a key part of creating a strong team culture.
What will you do?
This course explores what “professional conversations” really look like within an early years setting. We’ll share practical examples, sentence starters, mindset tips and everyday strategies to help you develop your communication skills. You’ll learn how to hold conversations that:
- Support growth and reflective practice
- Promote positive outcomes for children and families
- Strengthen team relationships
- Address issues early, even when the conversation feels difficult
- Build confidence across the team
You’ll also use our four competency levels to reflect on your current practice and identify clear, realistic next steps.
What are the benefits?
A setting with strong professional conversations will:
- Improve outcomes for children through shared thinking and reflective dialogue
- Build trust and respect across the team
- Solve problems early, before they grow
- Strengthen consistency in practice and communication
- Increase staff confidence and clarity
- Create a culture where feedback is normal, supportive and valued
